At Roseburg Country Club, we value the privacy of our members and guests while also celebrating the vibrant community and activities that take place on our grounds. This Photo and Media Policy is intended to inform all members, guests, and event attendees of our practices regarding photography and media use at the Club.
1. Photography at the Club
- Roseburg Country Club may capture photos and videos during Club events, recreational activities, tournaments, or while members and guests are enjoying the Club’s facilities.
- These images may be used by the Club for promotional purposes, including but not limited to:
- Social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram)
- Club newsletters or email communications
- Website galleries
- Print publications or advertisements
- Photographs are generally taken in public or semi-public areas of the Club (e.g., dining areas, golf course, event spaces), where there is no reasonable expectation of complete privacy under Oregon law.
2. Member and Guest Notification
- By entering the premises or attending Club events, members and guests acknowledge and consent to the possibility of being photographed or recorded.
- Prominent signage may be posted during major events or tournaments where photography is more likely, serving as an additional courtesy notice.
3. Opting Out
- If a member or guest does not wish to be photographed or have their image used for Club purposes, they may notify the Club Manager in writing or at the time of the event.
- The Club will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from wide-angle or crowd shots where individuals are not the focus.
4. Third-Party and Personal Photography
- Members and guests are welcome to take personal photos, provided they do not interfere with others’ enjoyment of the Club or violate anyone’s privacy.
- Commercial photography or photo sessions (e.g., wedding shoots, promotional content) must be approved in advance by Club management.
5. Respecting Privacy
- The Club will never use photographs in a way that is defamatory, misleading, or exploitative.
Roseburg Country Club Photo Policy Regarding Minors
At Roseburg Country Club (RCC), we occasionally capture photos and videos during club events, including those in which minors may be present. These images are used to celebrate our community and document club life. To respect the privacy of our members and their families, especially minors, we have implemented the following photo policy:
Usage of Photos Involving Minors
- Photos and videos taken during club events may be used in RCC internal communications, such as newsletters, emails, bulletin boards, and the Club's private Facebook group.
- Photos of minors will not be used in advertising materials or on public-facing social media channels without prior written parental or guardian consent.
- Group photos and candid images taken in public or group settings at the Club may include minors. While we strive to honor privacy requests, it may not be possible to fully exclude specific individuals from wide-angle or group images.
Opt-Out Policy
- Parents or legal guardians who do not wish their child(ren) to appear in any RCC photography or videography must submit a Photo Opt-Out Request form to Club management.
- RCC will make every reasonable effort to honor opt-out requests; however, we cannot guarantee complete exclusion in candid or large group shots where individual identification is not the focus.
- Parents are encouraged to communicate with the Club if they observe any concerns about photo use so they can be addressed promptly.
Legal Compliance
This policy is in accordance with
Oregon state law, which permits photography in public or semi-public spaces, such as the Country Club, where there is
no reasonable expectation of privacy. Nonetheless, RCC is committed to taking an ethical and respectful approach to the photography of minors and safeguarding their image rights to the greatest extent possible.
